At first glance, the Mazda CX-30 is the slightly older sibling of the CX-3. While the CX-3 is, of course, the older model, the CX-30 is essentially the same vehicle but larger, newer, and more powerful. In terms of price, the CX-3 is marginally less expensive than the CX-30 but as always, you get what you pay for. Both vehicles have three model lineups, the base GX, mid-range GS, and upgraded GT. We've broken down both vehicles to easily compare their MSRPs and fuel efficiency here:

Under the hood of the CX-3 lies the Skyactiv-G 2.0 L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with 148 horsepower. i-Activ All-Wheel Drive is available on GX and GS models and standard on the GT. For the CX-30, you'll get the Skyactiv-G 2.0 L 4-cylinder engine with 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque on the GX models, or the Skyactiv-G 2.5 L 4-cylinder engine with 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque on the GS and GT with added Cylinder Deactivation on the GT model.

In terms of tech, both vehicles remain tied with great options, the only notable difference is that the CX-30 has off-road traction mode to help you get out of ruts or in slippery conditions. When it comes right down to it, the CX-30 represents the future of Mazda, while the CX-3 is the past as it's one of Mazda's older vehicles in the lineup now. Either vehicle is a great choice when you're looking for your next Mazda.
